Community Relations

To make a difference in people’s lives.

Lake Area Bank’s core purpose is “making a difference in people’s lives”. One way we strive to make a difference is service above and beyond ourselves. We are dedicated and active in our communities. Our employees enjoy participating in several community events, parades and celebrations, as well as donating time and money in support of many organizations in and around the areas we serve.

As a community bank, we are dedicated to reaching out and supporting our communities through various bank-sponsored campaigns. Past efforts the bank has hosted include:

  • Food Drive collecting non-perishable donations for local food shelves
  • Earth Month Drive collecting plastic bags for proper recycling and providing shopping totes as an alternative
  • Shredding Events providing safe document destruction to the community
  • Kid’s Comfort Collection collecting books and stuffed animals for children in need of comfort at Children’s Hospital
  • Mitten Drive collecting outdoor wear for people in need
  • Backpack Drive collecting school items for underprivileged or under-served children

We’re proud to be a member of the communities we serve, and honored to contribute in ways that enrich the lives of others!

Current Community Support

Virtual Food Drive: June 15 – July 31, 2020

Lake Area Bank’s core focus is to make a difference in people’s lives. During these times of uncertainty, we want to do our part to assist those most affected by COVID-19 and the increase in demand at food shelves in our local communities. According to a recent survey, food shelves are feeding nearly 60% more people during the pandemic than they were this time last year. Additionally, food banks are reporting an average of 38% of those being served are new to charitable food assistance – people finding themselves in this new unfortunate situation.

To assist our local food shelves, Lake Area Bank will be hosting a Virtual Food Drive supporting:

o Valley Outreach Food Shelf (Stillwater area)

o White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf (White Bear Lake area)

o Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf (Hugo area)

o Family Pathways Food Shelf (Forest Lake & Lindstrom areas)

o Ralph Reeder Food Shelf (Shoreview & Mounds View areas)

During our Virtual Food Drive, donors can use the above links to contribute monetarily to the food shelves in our location areas. Monetary donations are the most useful and efficient way to support food banks during this time. These donations give food banks the flexibility and funds to respond wherever the need is highest.

Our goal is to raise $1,000 for each of our participating food shelves. And BONUS – Lake Area Bank will match donations up to $1,000 per participating food shelf.

Thank you for supporting your local food shelf! We will hold this virtual food drive and match donations up to $1,000 per food shelf until July 31, 2020.
